Another Month Gone….

As we head towards the end of June & into the 2nd half of the year – I honestly can’t believe how quickly that has gone!! – There have been ups & downs but so far the 1st half of this year has pretty much been a downer…covid-19 squashed pretty much any enjoyment of the good weather that we could have, peoples livelihoods have been effected, some have lost jobs due to companies having to downsize & some people have lost companies completely.

Some have been more than financially effected, personally I had a family member that we all feared we were close to loosing due to covid-19 but thanks to the amazing NHS staff we are blessed to still have this person with us!! Others have not been so lucky, have lost people & then haven’t even been able to mourn together which is heartbreaking & I cannot even imagine how gut wrenching that is to go through.

We’ve seen more & more evidence of police brutality & unjust treatment against black people & the microaggressions dealt with daily. But we have also seen the world come together like never before to unit against this unjust treatment. There will always be those who want to fight against the equal treatment of others, but unfortunately that is the sad, sad world that we live in. I’d love to think that one day humanity will just be able to live peacefully, but based on history as well as present day….I’m less & less hopeful, maybe it’s because I’m in a negative head space & feel triggered at the moment, but I can see history repeating itself over & over again & it’s heartbreaking.

As we move into the 2nd half of the year I want to try to be more positive, productive & brave. I have a few things I want to give a go so I’ll be trying to actively work on those & not procrastinate so much. During lockdown a lot of people have realised where & what they really want to be using their energy on & I can honestly say that I’m one of those people. What about you?

Have you found a new passion during lockdown that you don’t want to give up. There is definitely going to be a new normal when this is all over, but what will that look like for you? Do you want to just go back to doing what you were doing before? Maybe it was a 9 -5 that now you’ve had to do it for months on end at home you can’t stand anymore, maybe you were furloughed & had more time to work on things that really make you happy & the though of going back to work is making you anxious.

We’re moving closer & closer to end of lockdown, but there’s still time for you to decide what your new normal is going to look like. If you don’t want to just go back to what you were doing before take this time to sit & think about what your new normal will look like & how you can make that work with your previous normal, the 2 have to mesh & work together. Maybe you will take more time out for yourself when you finish work rather than running around like a headless chicken trying to get here, there & everywhere.

Have a little think about it & see what your new normal could look like……

That’s all from me today, see you on the next one
